OrthoPediatrics Corp. Announces New Board Members

OrthoPediatrics Corp. has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors—Stephen (Steve) Burns and Harold Ruf.

Terry Schlotterback, OrthoPediatrics’ board chairman, said, “We are delighted to welcome Harold and Steve to our board. Each executive brings extensive experience to our company as it continues its rapid growth and expands its category leadership in pediatric orthopedics.”
 
Burns joins the OrthoPediatrics board with more than 40 years of professional and legal experience in the Indianapolis, Ind., area. He has a bachelor of arts degree from Denison University and earned his law degree from the Indiana University School of Law in 1968. Burns was a practicing attorney for more than 20 years, and served as the president and CEO of Wheaton Van Lines from January 1988 to January 2009. He now serves as Wheaton’s board chairman. Burns has been active in many professional, social and civic organizations throughout his career.
 
Ruf brings more than 35 years of C-Suite level experience in a variety of industries, including medical device OEM and medical device manufacturing. He currently serves as chief operating officer of Squadron Capital LLC, the majority shareholder of OrthoPediatrics. During his career, he co-founded several successful companies in three different industries. He has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and is a licensed certified public accountant. Ruf has also served as an officer and board member in local and national associations and has been recognized nationally for his service.
 
Founded in 2006, OrthoPediatrics provides products to the pediatric orthopedic market to improve the lives of children with orthopedic conditions. OrthoPediatrics currently markets 19 surgical systems that serve three of the largest categories within the pediatric orthopedic market. This offering spans trauma and deformity, complex spine and ACL reconstruction procedures. OrthoPediatrics also has a global sales organization focused exclusively on pediatric orthopedics and distributes its products to 32 countries outside the United States.
